"Infatuation" Poem
This poem that we wrote was used to simulate Lily's affection for Zachary, who she is reluctant to gain feelings for. She feels that because she is white, and he is black that their relationship could never work.
I can feel you around me,
You give me warmth.
You are my sun, the center of my world.
The way that you touched me.
It made my stomach want to explode,
And a million butterflies fly out.
My secret is that I love you,
My love is like a message in a bottle.
A bottle in a stranded, deserted sea,
No one can find out.
What if I tell you?
What would you say?
It’s best just to keep it a secret.
My dirty little secret, and that’s all it will stay.
