Ms. Aponte asked us to write a mid-year reflection at the end of the 2nd quarter. I know that I didnt have much to write because I was still getting used to the class. However, I was learning about myself.
Mid-Year Self Reflection
There were several categories that we were asked to evaluate ourselves
in. Many of the categories that were dealt with our strengths and weaknesses in
the classroom setting. From this questionnaire I discovered out that I am strong in my interest in work,
planning and organizing, ability to learn, quality of work, response to
supervision and integration from prior learning. I have a strong drive to do my
work and learn, because I want to eventually get into a good college and make
something of myself. I try to remember material from last year to help me in
Tech Prep. In school and outside of school I really feel bad when children
disrespect teachers and their parents, which is why I respect almost every
teacher in this building and I especially respect and obey my parents.
While doing my self-reflection questionnaire I realized that I am not
strong or weak in certain areas, such as my initiative,
quantity of work, judgment, problem solving skills, dependability,
interpersonal behavior and communication. I feel that I need to do my work but
I get distracted at times, and don’t make as many attempts as I would like. In
certain classes, including Tech Prep I feel that I have minimal ideas to bring
to the table, and don’t feel that comfortable working with everyone.
The areas that I need to improve in are my leadership skills, oral
communication, and my creativity. I really have a hard time being a leader
because I lack the confidence that is needed to be one. Also at times I feel
that people don’t respect me enough to listen to me as a leader. My oral
communication lacks because I have a hard time putting many of my ideas into
words. In other classes, such as my sculpture and crafts class I am very
creative but it seems that when it comes to writing and other activities I lack
creativity. My goals for myself is to learn better leadership and oral
communication skills, and learn to be more creative in Tech Prep. I feel like
these goals will carry me out past high school and college and into the work
place. By doing this reflection questionnaire I feel I have fully examined
myself, what I think of myself is how others see
me.
